Center for the Study of Law, Politics and Economics

The Center for the Study of Law, Politics, and Economics at Emory University includes faculty and graduate students with common interests in the interplay of law, politics, and economics. The center focuses both on the law as an output (the design and change of legal institutions) as well as law as an input (how the law affects political and economic behavior). The center is designed to cross traditional scholarly boundaries. Affiliated member interests include law and economics, judicial behavior, and institutional politics among others. The center is grateful to Emory College, Emory School of Law, and the Halle Institute for their generous support.

Faculty affiliated with the center include: Robert Ahdieh, William Buzbee, Clifford Carrubba, Michael Giles, Michael Kang, Eric Reinhardt, Paul Rubin, Julie Seaman, George Shephard, Joanna Shephard, Jeffrey Staton, Liza Vertinsky, and Thomas Walker.

Recent publications by affiliated faculty have appeared in journals such as American Journal of Political Science; Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization; Journal of Politics; World Politics; The Journal of Law & Economics; The Journal of Legal Studies; American Law and Economics Review; the Michigan Law Review; the Stanford Law Review; the U.C.L.A.
