Robert C. Bartlett, B.A., University of Toronto; M.A. (Classics) Boston College; Ph.D Boston College. Specialization: classical  and early modern political philosophy. Publications include: Action and Contemplation: Studies in the Moral and Political Thought of Aristotle (SUNY, 1999); a new translation of Pierre Bayle's Various Thoughts on the Occasion of a Comet with notes and an interpretive essay (SUNY, 2000); The Idea of Enlightenment: A Post-mortem Study (University of Toronto Press, 2001) ; Plato's "Protagoras" and "Meno." New Translations with Interpretive Essays and Notes . (Cornell University Press, 2004), and an edition of Xenophon's  The Shorter Socratic Writings (Cornell, 2006).

Professor Bartlett received a Crystal Apple Award in 2003 for “Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching: Lecture Class” and the CTC's Award for “Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences” in 2004.
