International and Off-Campus Study

Photo of American University in CairoEmory encourages students to take advantage of study abroad opportunities. However, students must have the approval of their major department and the College for any program of study taken outside Emory College. The Department of Political Science will accept up to sixteen semester hours of credit earned in study outside Emory toward fulfilling concentration requirements and electives.  Students interested in foreign study should contact the Emory College Study Abroad.

Specific approval for taking courses through Emory Study Abroad (course approval web site)  may be obtained through your major faculty advisor and course equivalencies through the Director of Undergraduate Studies in Political Science. The Undergraduate Academic Coordinator in Tarbutton 327 may also assist you in this process.

The  Department offers the Spain/Germany Program in European Politics each summer as part of its study abroad programming.
