Biography: 

Dr. Anthony DeMattee is a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellow, and winner of three APSA best dissertation awards in public law (Edward S. Corwin Award), public administration (Leonard D. White Award), and human rights. He studies state-civil society interactions in the Global South with a regional focus on East Africa and the Caribbean. Before obtaining his Ph.D., DeMattee worked as an NGO consultant with the UN World Food Programme, the International Trade Centre, UNICEF, the Clinton Foundation, and the U.S. government.
